THE PHILOSOPHY OF OUR FARMS, LIFE, HONEY AND BEES

The health and happiness of our bees will always be our first priority. They are not only honey producers, but mainly pollinators, who take care of up to 60% of the crops we consume. That is why we also have strict ecological procedures in place to help them as much as possible in their hard work.

We process the raw honey that we then receive from them gently and only minimally. Thanks to this, it has a high biological quality and retains all the beneficial natural substances that should be in honey. The test results confirmed high levels of vitamins (mainly vitamins B1, B2 and vitamin C), minerals (mainly iron, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium), enzymes, amino acids, antioxidants, pollen grains, propolis and other beneficial substances.

THE HEALTH OF OUR BEES

Our apiaries are located in unique areas of South Moravia, which is usually a great start for bee health, as these locations are free of GMOs and urban toxins. At the same time, we keep our hives in these locations in lower numbers and with diverse bee grazing. Another principle of ours is to regularly check the surrounding range of bees, communicate with farmers in the area and consult procedures before treating crops.

Around our apiaries we have farmers who follow organic farming practices, 10% of them are directly BIO farmers and the remaining percentage are smaller farms that follow prescribed practices. This control is very important to us both for the biological quality of the resulting honey and for the safety of our bees. We are glad that in our localities, where we keep bees, there are farmers who take a responsible approach to the environment and nature protection.

SUSTAINABILITY IS A TRENDY TOPIC, BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR US?

Our personal view on sustainability is mainly based on nature conservation. We naturally gravitate towards the slogan "less is more", also in terms of our approach to life. When it comes to business, it is important to us that every product under our farm is presented with 100% transparency, sustainability and natural ingredients. Each of our products it is created from a real and personal story of use and need.

We also don't think of sustainability as a "cost". Although we still have a lot of work to do, we truly believe that over-consumerism and human consumption is one of the biggest problems that is creating so many problems in the world today. That's why we stick to a way of sustainable business practices, organic sales growth and using only what we need - while being grateful for what we have.

AND WHO ARE OUR MAIN EMPLOYEES? 🐝

On our organic farm, we take care of millions of our bees, specifically honey bees Apis mellifera L. They are one of the most famous representatives of social insects and pollinators in the world.

The honey bee plays an important role in nature and for humans. Her society is organized into a beehive, where each individual bee fulfills a specific role. Its primary role is as a pollinator of flowers, since around a third of the food we eat depends on pollination, and honeybees are one of the main actors in this process.

It is important to realize how important bees are to our planet and try to take steps to protect them. Promoting the protection of the natural environment, limiting the use of chemicals and supporting healthy bee colonies are some of the measures that can help preserve healthy bees in our landscape.

WE TAKE ECOLOGY REALLY SERIOUSLY, INCLUDING SHIPPING AND PACKAGING MATERIALS

We don't only think ecologically on the outside, but also on the inside of our honey packages. Our cardboard strips for filling packages are of our own production, we use them from old packaging that no longer meets our standards. We also use crumpled paper and corrugated cardboard.

All packages are made from recycled cardboard and some have even been used once. So when you get a package that isn't quite perfect, you know we're doing it for sustainability and love for our planet. We hope you will appreciate it! 🤍

Packing fragile items is always a bit of a conundrum. After long tests, we chose bubble wrap made from 50% recycled material, and sometimes we also use wrap that has already been used once. We are still working on an even more environmentally friendly version, but for our glass products, shipping is a bit risky. We will be grateful if you ever use our packaging again or recycle it. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

DAVID & ORGANIC BEE FARM

To introduce myself, my name is David Binko. After establishing, leading and raising the visibility of the CBD STAR project, I was deciding which direction my next steps would take. Since I have been interested in bees for some time and have always been fascinated by them, I decided to devote my time to further education in the field of beekeeping and exploring the Czech honey market.

It was surprising for me to find out how little honey on the Czech market is of really good quality and that most of the products offered in supermarkets only aim to make a profit. I wanted to create a bee farm that would focus not only on quality products, but also on the ecological side and enable bees to live in a natural symbiosis with the surrounding world. Because bees are fascinating creatures and have a far-reaching influence on our lives. They are not only producers of sweet and delicious honey, but mainly pollinators and key players in maintaining ecosystems, biodiversity and agricultural production.
